In the summer of 2018, Christ in the Rockies was replicated and brought to the Smoky Mountains, appropriately called Christ in the Smokies. During Taylor’s short time on earth, he made a big impact on other’s lives because of the core values he held dear. Scholarships through the foundation are a way of continuing that impact with future generations of young men and their fathers.
The Christ in the Smokies adventure is set in the North Georgia Mountains. The accommodations are held in a private retreat location. Scholarship fees for the father-son adventure include:
- Excellent lodging
- Delicious, filling meals from Sunday dinner through Thursday breakfast
- All transportation while on the adventure (two off-site activities will offer the option to drive separately if desired)
- All adventure activities
- All specialized outdoor equipment (packing list will be provided for personal items to bring)
- All adventure books and materials
- A fun, powerful and effective curriculum
- Memories to last a lifetime
Eligibility Requirements:
- Father and son nominees are committed to attending the trip together. (Please confirm this before submitting form.)
- Son’s age: Entering 12th grade and 17 or older by fall semester 2024
- Is a Christian, or a seeker
- Should be nominated by son’s adult leader or by father’s pastor and include the nomination form
- Readily exhibits leadership and service to others
- Has a love of the outdoors
