Joining Cub Scouts in 2nd grade, then crossing over to Boy Scouts in the 6th grade, had a significant impact on Taylor’s life. He loved the outdoors, camping and being hands-on. Taylor was in a very active Troop with other boys and their fathers, including his own dad who invested intentionally to teach the boys many life skills. Scouting America claims that “our Scouting programs are designed to give kids and young adults the skills they need to unlock their full potential and to live life outside – it’s bigger and way more fun out there!” We agree.
Spring 2026 opportunities
TSLF is currently accepting applicants accepting applicants for Star, Life or Eagles Scouts who are interested in receiving financial assistance to Sea Base, Northern Tier or Philmont for spring 2026. As some scouts have already paid installments toward these camps, funds would be awarded on an as needed basis, up to $1,600 for final camp installment fees, toward trip expenses or equipment needed for camp. Once a nominee is awarded scholarship funds, the funds will be provided to the Scout’s Troop, who will disburse the funds directly to the camp. If funds are left over after paying for camp fees, the Scout can provide receipts for travel expenses or equipment needed for camp to the Troop for reimbursement. Approval by Troop Master is required for all applicants.
Nominations for funds will be received between now and January 31, 2026 with funds being awarded in February 2026.
